It’s the encounters that make an event special. New conversations, inspiring ideas and the shared goal of informing and supporting people as well as possible – that’s exactly what we experienced at the Weidner Diabetestag 2026 (Weiden Diabetes Day).
At the invitation of Karl-Heinz Stupka of the Diabetiker Bund Bayern, we were there with our own information stand as Podologie Schley. Together with the Kliniken Nordoberpfalz as co-organiser and numerous regional and national companies, associations and healthcare partners, the event impressively showed how important education, prevention and interdisciplinary cooperation are in diabetes care.

– A small glimpse of a day full of interesting conversations, valuable encounters and a shared passion for better care for people with diabetes –
As a podiatry practice, foot health – especially for people with diabetes – is at the heart of what we do every day. We were all the more pleased about the many interesting conversations at our stand. Whether questions about medical foot treatment, proper care at home or preventing diabetic foot syndrome – the personal exchange was the most valuable part of the day for us.
It was also a special joy to meet some of our own patients at the Diabetes Day. It’s wonderful when people we accompany in everyday practice also attend events like this, find out more and seek a personal conversation. These encounters made the day even more enriching for us.
The Diabetes Day also offered the opportunity to network with other exhibitors and professionals, gain new perspectives and together raise awareness of the importance of good diabetes care.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Karl-Heinz Stupka and the Diabetiker Bund Bayern for the invitation and their trust. We would also like to thank the Kliniken Nordoberpfalz and all other contributors and exhibitors for the excellent organisation and pleasant atmosphere throughout the event.

They remind us why we practise our profession with so much passion: to accompany people, pass on knowledge and together contribute to better health and quality of life.
